Spiritual Emphasis: There are some fundamental decisions that one should make in life. These decisions should be made even before any situation would arise to put the decision to test. As we begin the new year, have you considered who you would please? Is your goal in life to please God or to please men?

Making Pleasing God Your Goal In life

  • Faith: Live a life of faith if you want to please God. Faith is believing that God will do what He says He will do even when it does not make sense. Faith is believing the Word of God and acting upon it. The first way to demonstrate your faith in God is to believe in His Son, Jesus Christ. In other words, give your life to Jesus. Accept Him as your Lord and Savior – Hebrew 11:1-3; Hebrew 11:6-7; John 3:3; 2 Corinthians 5:7; James 2:14-22.
  • Obeying God’s Command: Obedience please God. God desires that you do His will rather than sacrifices. The result of obedience is long life, and you will eat the good of the land – Deuteronomy 12:28; 1 Samuel 15:22; Psalm 40:6; Colossians 3:20; Ephesians 6:1; Deuteronomy 4:40; Isaiah 1:19-20; Joshua 1:8-9; John 14:15-16.

Questions/Activities:

  1. What is the way of living in faith?
  2. How can we live a life of complete obedience to God, not partial obedience?

Conclusion. If you decide to please God in all you do or say your goal in life, you would have made one of the best decisions. It will simplify life for you and make you live an impactful and fulfilled life. In whatever situation you find yourself, whether it is convenient or not, make pleasing God your goal. Leave the rest to Him; He will handle the consequences of this righteous decision.

Shalom!
