Unshakable Faith in God

Unshakable Faith in God

Memory Verse: …  “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him – Job 13:15 (NKJV)

Text: Mark 4:35-41

Spiritual Emphasis: Henry Ford at age seventy-eight years old was once asked if he was worried, Mr. Ford replied, “No. I believe God is managing affairs and He doesn’t need any advice from me. With God in charge, I believe that everything will work out for the best in the end. So, what is there to worry about?” Without a doubt, this kind of faith is what we should have as believers. This is the kind of faith, which is never based on life’s circumstances, whether bad or good, or whether unpleasant or pleasant. Rather, it is a faith that is totally based on our knowledge of God.

Live boldly with Unshakable Faith in God.

  • Be Acquainted with God’s Assessment Test: How big is God to you? Do you know Him enough that you can trust Him? If you don’t see Him as almighty and powerful, then, you won’t expect Him to accomplish anything extraordinary – Mark 4:35-36; James 1:2-4; Job 23:10; Jer. 32:17; Psalm 91:1; Rev. 1:8; 1 Chron. 29:11.
  • Be aware of God’s Abiding Presence: Jesus was present before the storm came, and while the storm was raging. We should never take for granted the value of His presence in our midst – Mark 4: 37-38; Jos. 1:3-6; Psalm 46:1-3; Matt. 28:19-20; Psalm 39: 9-10; Psalm 23; Isaiah 43:2-6.
  • Be assured of God’s Abounding Love: Have you ever been in a situation and asked God, do you see what I’m going through, don’t You care? Or have you felt God is not paying attention and allowed circumstances to overwhelm you? – Mark 4: 38-41; Gen. 22:11-12; Psalm 3:1-6.

Questions/Activities: What do you think Jesus was trying to teach or demonstrate to us by sleeping in the midst of the storm? (Phil. 4:6-7).

Conclusion. Unshakable faith is trusting God’s character when circumstances make no sense. I sincerely believe as family here in Christ Chapel, if there is anything that can keep all of us confident and courageous in life today, it would be our faith in God.

Shalom!
