Memory Verse: …” For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. Rom. 8:29 (NLT).
Text: Colossians 3:1-25
Spiritual Emphasis: You and I were created to become like Christ. From the very beginning, God’s plan has been to make you like His Son, Jesus. This is our destiny. God announced this intention at Creation: “Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image and likeness.’”

- Serve Humbly: Look for practical, everyday needs in your home, workplace, and community – Matt. 20:26-28; John 13:3-10.
- Forgive Freely: Release grudges, and choose not to hold past wrongs against others –Col. 3:13; Eph. 4:32; Matt. 6:14-15; 1 John 1:9.
- Practice Humility: Set aside your ego, listen without interrupting, and give others the spotlight – Phil. 2:3; James 1:19.
- Make Time for Others: Prioritize people over your schedule; be present and available when someone needs help – Gal. 6:2.
- Prioritize Prayers: Make time intentionally, daily quiet time to talk and listen to God – Mark 1:35.
- Walk in Obedience: Let God’s Word shape your lifestyle, making daily choices that reflect His teachings, rather than the patterns of the world – John 14:15, Rom. 12:2; Jos. 1:8.
Question: What other practical ways can we daily be more like Christ?
Conclusion:
Your character is essentially the sum of your habits. Emulating Jesus daily involves practicing His teachings through love, humility, service, and devotion. Ultimately, bearing God’s image is about your daily conduct—how you love your family, serve your neighbors, and respond to adversity. Earth is a training ground. Commit today to stop relying on your own strength, lean into the Holy Spirit, and let God reproduce the character of Jesus in your life.
