Day 10, Feb 14th 2024
Text: Isaiah 6:1-8
Introduction- Isaiah a prominent Messianic prophet who got a revelation from God during a turning point moment in the history of the nation. He was convicted of sin, received cleansing and answered the call to preach the word of God to the people. He was God`s prophet during the reign of four kings of Judah in Jerusalem. His ministry was to give hope to the people of God that they had not been abandoned but needed to abandon their sinful ways and return to him for restoration and salvation.
Life Lessons–
- We need a deeper and more intimate knowledge of God. A personal revelatory encounter with God shaped Isaiah`s life and ministry. Being anointed and filled with the Spirit of God is necessary for a believer to thrive in personal life and ministry. Phil 3:10, Luke 5:8.
- Certain things need to be crucified in our lives for us to live fulfilling and effective lives. Gal. 2:20, John 12:24, Gal 5:19-21. The distractions and limitations placed on us by sin and worldliness affect the quality and purity of our walk of faith.
- When we yield in humility to God upon awareness of our shortcomings, he will completely cleanse us from sin and gives us grace to walk uprightly in newness of life. Heb 7:25, 2 Cor. 5:17. Regeneration and salvation may occur in the twinkling of an eye, but it takes a daily walk with and commitment to God to stay in his perfect will. Phil 2:12.
- Isaiah responded to the call of God promptly after being anointed and sanctified with an unmatched commitment. He volunteered to be the Lord`s messenger in a difficult and pivotal time in his nation’s history. Is. 61:1, Lk:4:18, Ps. 110:3
Life applications
- We need to create time and ensure we study the word, pray, wait on the Lord, so he can reveal our purpose and his will in our lives. Is. 40:31
- We must identify, mortify and seek God`s grace in ensuring any besetting sin does not have any root. Heb 12:15, Col. 3:5-8.
- We must be humble in the presence of God, listening in obedience reverence. Is 30:15
- We must ensure to be always in the perfect will of God, in obedience fulfilling our commission and walking according to the faith we profess. Romans 12:2, Gal.5:1
