Grace 3

Grace 3

Memory Verse: …”And God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity – 2 Cor. 9:8. (AMP).

Text: Titus 2: 11-14.

Spiritual Emphasis: Grace is what differentiates Christianity from all other religion in the world. Grace is the foundation of Christianity. Grace is something so unbelievable that without Christ, you can’t begin to fathom it. It’s what you’re given when you in no way deserve it. It’s humbling and redeeming and replaces shame with strength and love. Jesus is grace personified

Jesus Christ Reveals God’s Grace

  • Grace Taking Form (The Incarnation): Jesus revealed grace by becoming human, bringing God’s presence directly to humanity rather than waiting for us to reach Him – John 1:1-18.
  • By preaching faith over flesh: JOHN 3:16 – Look carefully at the end of that verse. There is a full-stop, a period. Thank God for that period! It is the greatest period in the history of periods. The old covenant required numerous chapters to list all the things you need to do if you were to have any hope of impressing God, but here in the new, you just have to believe by faith. Full-stop – Eph. 2:8-9.
  • Radical Acceptance of the Unworthy: Jesus consistently reached out to the broken, the outcast, and the despised, revealing that grace is based on His goodness, not our merit – Mark 2:15-17; Luke 19:1-10.

Question: The bigger question is: Has God always been gracious? Or did Jesus’ death and resurrection somehow alter His character?

Conclusion:

In a world quick to judge, grace slows down to listen. It offers second chances, sees the good in hard places, and always leaves room for redemption. Grace isn’t just a theological concept. It’s the very heartbeat of how God relates to us. It is also the model for how we extend love to others.

Shalom!
