The Woman with The Issue of Blood

The Woman with The Issue of Blood

Text:  Mark 5:24-34

Introduction-

The woman with the issue of blood; Luke 8: 42-48

This is the story of a woman who forged ahead despite all oppositions, barriers, laws, discouragement, mockery, brokenness, helplessness, despair, and persecution; she defied all odds to claim her possession. She suffered shame, loneliness, poverty, and disgrace. She understood her heavenly father’s promise, and she got it. Healing is one of God’s blessings and promises to his children. Jeremiah 30:17- For I will restore Health to you, and heal you of your wounds —-says the Lord.  Jeremiah 33:6 – Behold, I will bring health and healing to it, and I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.

Considering her background, nothing about this woman was ceremonious; she is a commoner by the book, impoverished by her condition, and a lawbreaker (Leviticus 15:25-27).  The woman with the issue of blood never gave up, she got VICTORY AT LAST.

The woman with no name recovered it all when she met with the King of the Universe!! ALLELUIA. This is my prayer for everyone listening to this program: You shall recover whatever the enemy has stolen from you in Jesus Christ’s name.

Life Lessons-

Faith: This woman persevered and was determined to touch our Lord Jesus Christ so that she could live. She lost everything and was totally dejected. But the good news was that she strongly believed that Jesus Christ had the power to heal her, and her actions would lead to a positive outcome. Hebrews 11:1 – Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. She was convinced that the Lord Jesus would heal her. She not only got her healing; she got her salvation. Jesus met this woman where she was at that moment in her life; Jesus lifted her UP!

Focus: The woman with the issue of blood, just like Esther (Esther 4:16), made up her mind to go run after Jesus, not minding what would become of her. It looks like her thought was like if I perish, I perish; this is my last hope. She faces her risk and fear!

Courage: The woman with the issue of blood was courageous and got heavenly attention. Our Lord Jesus knew that someone touched him out of the multitude that was thronging him. The woman instantly experienced the power of the Lord and knew that she was healed; she did not hold back from telling Jesus Christ that she was the one who touched his garment. Jesus answered her; Daughter, your faith has made you whole……..Go in Peace and be healed of your afflictions.

May all our situations attract Heavenly attention in Jesus Christ’s name.

Life applications

Endurance: We must endure so that we can fulfill our destiny. This story is enough to boost our faith and uphold us. Believers should have unwavering convictions because no one fails with the King of Glory. James 1:12 states that believers will face persecution in diverse forms, even death, by proclaiming the name of Christ. Nevertheless, it is a booster of our faith and spiritual upliftment.

Faith endures persecution and mockery. Endurance will separate us from sin and submit us to the Word of God. Jesus is the author and finisher of our Faith. We must hold steadfastly to what was delivered and guard it jealously. Due to environmental factors and societal demands, it is easy to be distracted and yield to the dogma of this world. The promise of God is Yea and Amen and stands forever (2Corinthians 1:20)

Transformation: Our heavenly father has the power to transform our lives inside out. By trusting and obeying HIM, a believer is empowered by the Holy Spirit so that the glory of the Lord can manifest in our situations/challenges. The Holy Spirit gives believers strength so that they can continue to be empowered and manifest the glory of the Lord in their lives. Through the strength of the Lord, we will be in God’s will, and we will accomplish our heart desires.

The Lesson of the Day

Luke 1:37—With God, all things are possible. God works with the tiniest amount of faith, regardless of your status. Our God turns things around completely.
