A Lifestyle of Gratitude 4

A Lifestyle of Gratitude 4

Memory Verse: “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of
God in Christ Jesus for you. – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NKJV)

Text: Psalm 103:1-14.

Spiritual Emphasis: There are many definitions of gratitude. At its foundation, gratitude is a
healing, life-affirming, and uplifting human experience that shifts us from focusing on the
negative to appreciating what is positive in our lives. Gratitude is a posture of the heart that is
worshipful to God. It benefits our mental, physical, and emotional health, relationships, and even
God’s kingdom. Gratitude is a powerful human emotion that means gratefulness or thankfulness.
It is the way we acknowledge the goodness of God in our lives.

Start each day with a grateful heart – Why?
Gratitude Makes Room for More Blessings – When you live a life of gratitude as a
lifestyle, it moves the Father to bless you more. So, being thankful draws God to you,
this, in turn, causes Him to release more blessings to you. Also, thanksgiving multiplies
whatever you have. For example, when Christ gave thanks over the five loaves of bread
and two fishes, it multiplied enough to feed five thousand men. And the fragments that
were gathered filled up twelve baskets – John 6:9-13

Gratitude is a Proof of Your Faith – If you believe the Lord and His Word, you will live
in gratitude all the days of your life. This is because you’re too sure that the Father will
do all that He said in His word. And you will have neither fear nor anxiety concerning
anything. This was Abraham’s case when God promised to make him a father. He
believed the word of the Lord and gave glory to God, convinced that it would be even as
He had promised. And God fulfilled His word to him, giving him Isaac – Rom. 4:20-21

Gratitude Gives Peace to Your Soul and Health to Your Body – A person with a thankful
heart has no room for anxiety or anything that will steal his peace. This is because the
person’s heart is resting in God, who never fails. So, he enjoys peace of mind, which in
turn keeps the body well. Therefore, give the Lord thanksgiving and He will give you
peace and health – Phil. 4:6-7

Questions/Activities: Has God being good to you and family this year? Can you count your
blessings and name them one by one…

Conclusion: I challenge you to cultivate a lifestyle of gratitude and thankfulness every day of
what is left in 2022. Find a journal and write down your experiences of God’s faithfulness and
blessings in your life every day. Go further and share it to encourage others. Please stop focusing
on your limitations and what is missing. Set your gaze on God and His limitless grace to provide
for all your needs. Your circumstances, dreams and desires are not beyond God’s grace and
mighty power to turn around for good and for His glory.
Shalom!
