Text: 1 John 1
Introduction-
The Apostle John wrote this book. His focus in this chapter, was on fellowship
with God our Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ.
Life Lessons.
- Verses1-2
John was a witness of the word of life. He interacted with, saw with his eyes, supped with, and looked upon the son of God. He openly declared his belief in Him! There was no confusion about his conviction, that the only way to Eternal life is through Jesus Christ, God’s only Begotten son, who he met and fellowshipped with, face to face.
2.Verses 3-4
John made it clear that fellowship with each father and His son Jesus Christ. This is the only way our joy can be full. other is incomplete without the connection to God the
3. Verses 5-7
God is light. In Him, there is no darkness. If we say we have fellowship with Him but walk in darkness, we are liars and are not truthful. If we walk in light, the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.
Life applications
- Verses 8-10. ‘If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us’.
ABC’S of our salvation.
A- Admit that you are a sinner
B- Believe that Jesus is the son of God
C- Confess that He is God
If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar. This is why the whole mankind needed the redemption story. The only acceptable sacrifice, Jesus Christ of Nazareth! So that no man may boast and base their salvation on works.
2. Build healthy relationships with other believers, rooted in God, our Father and His son Jesus Christ.
3. Darkness and light do not belong together. Once light shows up, darkness disappears. We cannot claim to live for Christ and continue to dwell in darkness. These are complete opposites. The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin, and this is a free atonement. The price is already paid for. God wants us to live in the light, His Light.
