LIFE LESSON 1/ LIFE APPLICATION (Wise counsel)
v 1 Wine gives false courage and can result to drunkenness.
Taking it can lead to unwise and disgraceful behavior
v3 It is an honor to stay out of fight.
Only those who are not wise insist on quarreling
v4 and 13: These 2 verses advise us to work even when it is not convenient, if you love sleep, you will end up in poverty.
Be a hard-working person, the result is that you will have plenty harvest at the end. You will lack nothing.
v5 and 18 Good adverse will come from a Godly counsellor,
If you are wise, you will draw understanding from it but line it up with the word of God.
v15 If you have Godly knowledge, it is better than gold
Let us ask God to give us the desire to know Him.
v19 Do not tell your secret to a gossiper because he will spread it around.
Are you being a gossiper, can a brother trust you?
LIFE LESSON 2/ LIFE APPLICATION (Integrity)
v7 A righteous man/ father who walks in constant moral/ honesty
Such a father is a wonderful heritage/ blessing to his children
v10 God hates every kind of cheating, and it is abomination to the Lord.
v14 if a buyer deceives a seller by saying your item is worthless in order to get the price low.
Do not deceive anybody because the Lord sees the heart.
v17 Gain made by deceit may be sweet at that moment.
v21 Quick wealth / inheritance gotten hastily in the beginning is bad.
Such wealth does not turn to blessing, instead it will turn to gravel in the month of the deceiver.
LIFE LESSON 3/LIFE APPLICATION (Righteousness By God alone)
v9 Who can clean his heart and say that I am sinless or pure in heart.
Isaiah 64:6 Says that we are all unclean, no matter what you do (go to church, fast, hurt nobody etc). Our nature remains unclean like a filthy rag.
JOHN 10:10 -11 says Jesus came and died so that we might have abundant life. V9 says that Jesus is the door and if you enter by Him, you will be saved.
v24 A man’s step are ordered by the Lord.
You may not understand every step since it is done by the Lord. Trust His leading and it will end well in Jesus name, amen.
v29 Says the glory of young men is their strength.
Young man, use your energy for the Lord. For the elderly, your glory/beauty is gray hair, wisdom, and experience. Please listen to us.
KEY WORD OF THE DAY
Wise advice is profitable to hearers and doers of God’s word. They build Godly integrity and with lots of rewards.
