The Dynamics of Faith – Review

The Dynamics of Faith – Review

Memory Verse:  But without faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him – Hebrews 11:6 (AMP).

Spiritual Emphasis: Faith isn’t static state, it’s a dynamic force – a powerful energy that propels us forward, allowing us to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and trust in God. In this series, we have explored the “dynamics of faith.” Today, we will review how it works actively within us, shaping our everyday actions and transforming our lives to the glory of God.

Text: Luke 7:1-10

  • What is faith? The Bible clearly defines faith –Heb.11:1. Example; Faith is the evidence of what Christ has freely given us through His grace – Eph. 2:8-9; Jer. 29:11.
  • Kinds of faith: Faith is not the same for everyone. The Bible speaks of faith that walks on water – Matt.14:28; faith that moves mountain – Mark 11:22-25; faith that produces good works – James 2:20-26; little faith – Matt. 8:26; great faith – Matt.8:8-10.
  • How faith works: Faith is a choice – Deut. 30:19; Jos. 24:15; Rom. 8:5-8. Faith works when we don’t come to God with a sense of entitlement – Luke 7:6-8. Faith works when our confidence in the Lord is so strong that we are willing to risk embarrassment and failure – Daniel 3:8-25; Luke 7:2-5.

Question: How can we grow our faith in God?

Conclusion

Faith’s power does not rest in knowledge, religion, or good works. Faith is not trying harder or being nicer. Faith works when we stop playing it safe, when we throw away our little cup, and when we, with uncertain steps, take the risk and come running to Jesus with a bucket. He fills it to the top every time. But the key is to come running to Jesus all the time, and never take your eyes off Him.

Shalom!
