Day: 5
Text: MATTHEW 13:24-30 NIV
Introduction- The Kingdom of God is like a man who sowed good seeds in his field.
While men slept, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went his way. When the wheat grains sprouted, the weeds also appeared. The servants asked their master this question. “Sir, did you not sow good seeds in your field, how then does it have weeds?” He answered, an enemy has done this. The servants again asked, do you want us to gather them up, He answered, No, lest while you gather them up, you also uproot the wheat with them. Let them both grow together until Harvest Time. I will instruct the reapers to first of all gather the weeds, bundle them up and burn them, then gather the wheat and take them into the barn.
Life Lessons– We have a mixed multitude on earth. Wheat represents the redeemed of the Lord, while the weeds are the servants of the evil one.
The Devil comes to steal, kill and destroy, while the Lord offers us abundant life in eternity
We are in the world, but not of the world. The eyes of the Lord roams around and sees all things good and evil. There is a difference between the wheat and the weeds. Which one are you ?
Life applications: We have a choice to make. Will we be wheat or weeds? There is no middle ground. The Lord will spew out anyone who is Lukewarm.
We will be held accountable during the harvest time. Now is the time to decide to be on the Lord’s side. He sees and knows all things even when they are hidden from men. Our father who art in heaven is faithful to reward those who diligently serve Him in spirit and in truth.
Lesson of the Day: God has a redemption plan. He went to prepare a place for us. When the time of separation between the wheat and weeds will come, His desire is that we make it into His barn and not to the fiery furnace. Let him who has ears hear the beckoning of the Lord into eternal life. The time for that decision is Now! Before the Harvest time comes upon mankind.
