Day 35
Topic: What does Jesus say about Grateful Heart
Text: Luke 17;11-19
Introduction:
o A Grateful Heart offers a new and faith-focused way to cultivate a life filled with gratitude. “Gratitude” is the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness. We have seen from the passage we read why it is important to be thankful and grateful. Jesus healed ten men with leprosy and only one of them came back to show gratitude.
- Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (I Thess 5:18) • Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever (Psalm 136:1) o We should be thankful in all circumstances. God blesses us every day; therefore, it is our solemn duty to show Him our gratitude daily. Blessings come to us both great and small but be thankful for them all.
Life lessons from Luke 17;11-19
-Grateful heart because we have received mercy; Jesus willingly gave us mercy. (Ephesians 2;4-5). But God being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ–
(Romans 3;23)– For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
None of us are worthy of Gods grace but it is only through Jesus Christ that we are able to receive it.
-Grateful heart for salvation. Jesus willingly gave us his life.
(Romans 5:8) But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Through is sacrifice we have been forgiven and reconciled unto God
Our gratitude should overflow in worship (Psalm 100;4) Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
-Grateful heart because we have been chosen
(1Pet 2;9)9But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
