Text: Proverbs 27

Introduction-

How do we learn from a Righteous God and how do we get to be righteous and have a mind of God? How do we follow HIS WORD and HIS WISDOM so that we can be like him? Roman 16:27. 

This chapter is about wisdom and living a life pleasing to God and full of humility from the first verse to the end.

Life Lessons:

1st lesson on what it teaches us about God.  Our God is Holy, Pure, and Sovereign. The bible describes the character of God as Righteous and want his children to follow righteousness and be wise.  God stated categorically that HE is our God, He is Holy, and we must Consecrate ourselves (Leviticus 11:44). So, what is this telling us as children of God? This statement is telling us that we should be like HIM, our father in Heaven!

God is full of wisdom which transcend human understanding. The bible reminds us that our God asked whoever lacks wisdom should pray and ask for it and that our God in heaven will generously give such a fellow (James 1: 5-6).  Our God desires that we have a mind like HIM through HIS instructions (Philippians 2:5-8). Our GOD is Holy and all HIS thoughts and actions are good and for us to have an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11).  Our thoughts and actions are to align with his WORDS and be distinct from the world around us (1Peter 1: 14-16).

2nd on what it teaches us and our daily lives. For us as children of God, we must sanctify ourselves and follow righteousness. The bible declares that our righteousness is like filthy rags (Isaiah 64.6), but we should pursue all righteousness (1 Timothy 6:11, 2 Timothy 2:22). The bible is telling us to flee from worldly passions and be obedient to the WORD and instructions of God our creator – this is WISDOM. Sanctification means to be set apart for GOD and be HOLY (John 17:16). The Lord instructs us that we must sanctify ourselves and be Holy just as HE is Holy (Leviticus 20: 7-8, 1 Peter 2:9-12). Wisdom is obedience to the WORD of GOD. 

3 Life Applications. 

 Understanding: understanding is not just mere understanding but having a deeper knowledge and reflections of our inner thought through the lens of the word of God.

• Understanding the WORD of God: Study the word of God always. The WORD of God is the only instructions that can bring us to the standard that God wants. It is through the word of God that we know HIS mind and only though HIS WORD we can be sanctify and made righteous (2 timothy 2:15, Joshua 1:8).
• Understanding our Identity in Christ Jesus: understanding means to have an insight / good judgement.  Understanding is not just mere comprehension but having a deeper knowledge and reflections of our inner thought through the lens of the word of God. David confronted Goliath with faith and boldness (1Samuel 17: 45-47). 

Daniel demonstrated his unwavering faith and the divine intervention (Daniel 6).

• Understanding the Power of the HOLY SPIRIT to transform our lives (Romans 12:2): As believers we need to study the WORD of GOD and align our lives with the Holy Spirit for Power, Directions, Prayers, and Guidance (John 14:26, Romans 8:26, John 16:13).

Key-Word: Wisdom of God is embedded in HIS WORD. Let the HOLY SPIRIT enables us to know the TRUTH and understand the TRUTH.
