Memory Verse: And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Rom. 12:2 – (NKJV)
Bible Text: Ephesians 1:15-23
Spiritual Emphasis: Dominion is about knowing who you are in Christ and understanding that in you, through HIM is the power to lay hold onto the promises of God and possess them until the day of Christ.
God’s Original Plan for Man
- Walking in Dominion: We can find God’s clearest purposes and intents in the Book of Genesis. His will is made perfectly clear in the Garden before the fall – in the areas of the spirit, soul, and body. We must learn to exercise this authority in all three areas – Gen. 1:26-28.
- Spirit: This is the foremost area in which we must assert our God-given dominion. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior over our lives, we have willing yielded to God’s plan and purpose – Col. 1:12-14; Rom. 8:9-17; 2 Cor. 5:17; Jer. 29:11.
- Soul: This refers to our mind, will and emotions. As believers, we must take action to walk in our God-given dominion over this realm. It is vital that we take a stand over our mental and emotional realms through staying deeply connected to God through prayer, worship, and reading the Bible daily – Rom. 12:2; Eph. 4:25-32; 2 Cor. 10:5; Jos. 1:8-9.
- Body: Finally, we are to exercise the fullest authority and dominion that God has given us in the natural world around us – John 10:10; Ps. 23; Ps. 24:1-2; Isaish 53:5; Gen. 39:3-4; Gen. 41:41-44.
Question:
- How do we maintain our dominion in all these three realms? (How did Joseph maintain dominion in all 3 realms?).
Conclusion:
Moving from glory to glory is about taking charge and walking in dominion as was God’s original plan for man – Gen. 1:26-28; Psalm 8:5-6. His plan has not changed. Thank God through Jesus Christ we can still actualize His original plan. Walking in dominion goes beyond lip service; it is more about taking your stand as a child of God, it is being able to grasp what you can do in Christ Jesus. Shalom!
