Walking in Dominion

Walking in Dominion

Memory Verse: And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God – Rom. 12:2 (NKJV)

Bible Text: Ephesians 1:15-23.

Spiritual Emphasis: Dominion is about knowing who you are in Christ and understanding that in you, through HIM is the power to lay hold onto the promises of God and possess them until the day of Christ.

Understanding Dominion:

  • Authority and Influence: Dominion is not just about control, but about exercising God-given authority and influence to bring about positive changes and aligning with His will and purpose for your life. This dominion from God to man, is not meant to be exploitative but rather a call for stewardship, responsibility, and care – Matthew 28:18; Gen. 1:26; Deu. 28:13; Rom. 15:13.
  • Spiritual Foundation: The dominion we are talking about here is rooted in a relationship with God, understanding His nature, and living according to His Word. Foundation simply means the starting point of origin. If a man’s starting point is faulty, there has to be a rule of engagement to correct it in order to see the mighty Hand of God – Psalm 11:3-7; John 3:3; John 14:6; John 15:5-9; Gal. 5:22-23.
  • Overcoming Limitations: Dominion involves breaking free from limiting beliefs, negative patterns, spiritual strongholds that hinder progress, to trusting in God, seeing things from God’s view point, and walking by faith and in obedience – Isaiah 1:19-20; Phil. 4:13; 2 Cor. 5:7; Numbers 13:30-33; Phil. 3:13-14; Phil. 2:5-11; Jos.1:8-9; Isaiah 41:10.

QUESTION: As Bible students, what are your thoughts on Ephesians 6:10-20?

Conclusion:

Christ has all power in Heaven and on Earth. HE has shared some of this power to everyone that believes in HIS name and living a new life by the works of HIS redemption. If you believe and abiding in Christ, you are expected to walk in dominion in every area in Jesus name amen.

Shalom!
