Passion For Souls 4

Passion For Souls 4

Memory Verse: … “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children”. – Mark 10:14b (NKJV)

Text: Romans 10:13-15

Spiritual Emphasis: As a child of God, you must be passionate about soul-winning; it must burn in your heart to take the Gospel to the lost. You’re the custodian of the Gospel. It’s therefore your divine responsibility to publish it around the world. When you understand that Jesus is the only way, you’ll stand up for the Gospel. This is the principle behind the E1B1 project in Christ Chapel. God expects us to bring souls to the Lord (John 1:40-42). Be blessed as we learn and find our most important purpose for living.

Winning the Children

  • What do we mean by ‘winning the children’? We mean bringing them to a saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ; not to know Him only as teacher, guide, healer, protector, provider, friend…but as personal Savior and Lord; having a personal relationship with Jesus – Prov. 22:6; Deut. 6:6-9; John 17:3; Rev. 3:20.
  • Children need to be won: Children need to be converted, born again and saved. Some say children do not need to be converted, but God’s Word tells us we are born in sin Psalm 51:5; Matt.18:3; John 3:3; Matt. 18:11. If a man of 70 is converted, his soul is saved but most of his life is lost, whereas if a child of 10 is converted, his soul is saved and his life too. In each case the value of the soul is the same, but the influence of the life is very different – Ps. 90:14; Eccl. 12:1.
  • Children are OURS to win: If we do not win them, who will? Parents should not rely upon Sunday school teachers to win their children to Christ; they should accept the responsibility of their children’s spiritual welfare and should do all in their power, wisely and lovingly, to win their little ones to the Lord. There should be an urgency about this task, and our attitude should be now is the time not tomorrow – John 9:4; 2 Cor.6:2; Pro. 27:1.

Question/Activity: What is the best approach to winning our Children for Christ?

Conclusion: Be prepared for the Lord to use you where you are. It may be at home, at school, in business, in hospital, or while you are travelling. Be willing to be just a link in the chain of God’s purposes. Be willing to do your share by prayer, or conversation or gentle persuasion. This great work is His work. (1 Corinthians 3:7-9).
