Passion For Souls 3

Passion For Souls 3

Memory Verse: …” The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who wins souls is wise. –Prov. 11:30 (NKJV).

Text: Romans 10:13-25

Spiritual Emphasis: As a child of God, you must be passionate about soul-winning; it must burn in your heart to take the Gospel to the lost. You’re the custodian of the Gospel. It’s therefore your divine responsibility to publish it around the world. When you understand that Jesus is the only way, you’ll stand up for the Gospel. This is the principle behind the E1B1 project. God expects us to bring souls to the Lord (John 1:40-42). Be blessed as we learn and find our most important purpose for living.

HOW, WHERE AND WHEN TO WIN SOULS

  • How: Follow the example of Christ. We cannot do this on our own strength. We are to have no confidence in the flesh, but we must have absolute confidence in the power of the Lord to work through us – Phil. 4:13; James 1:5-8; Matt. 9:36-38.
  • Where: Everywhere. But begin in your home. We are to seek to win souls just where the Lord has placed us. In our Jerusalem – home, office, factory, hospital etc. – our ’Judea ‘, or our ’Samaria ‘…Where are you now? That is the place to seek and win the lost. The whole world is our parish; let us be up and doing, for the time is short – Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 9:16; John 1:40-46.
  • When: We are to seek to win souls when the Holy Spirit prompts, when the opportunity is given, and when the need is very urgent. We are called to be on the job continually – Acts 8:26-31; 2 Tim 4:1-5; John 9:4-5.

Question/Activity: How do we rekindle our passion for soul winning?

Conclusion: Be prepared for the Lord to use you where you are. It may be at home, at school, in business, in hospital, or while you are travelling. Be willing to be just a link in the chain of God’s purposes. It is rarely that God uses one instrument in the salvation of a soul. In most cases He uses many instruments. Be willing to do your share by prayer, or conversation or gentle persuasion. This great work is His work. (1 Corinthians 3:7-9)

Shalom!
