Memory Verse: ……” The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who wins souls is wise. -Prov. 11:30 (NKJV).
Text: Romans 10:13-15
Spiritual Emphasis: As a child of God, you must be passionate about soul-winning; it must burn in your heart to take the Gospel to the lost. You’re the custodian of the Gospel. It’s therefore your divine responsibility to publish it around the world. When you understand that Jesus is the only way, you’ll stand up for the Gospel. This is the principle behind the E1B1 project. God expects us to bring souls to the Lord (John 1:40-42). Be blessed as we learn and find our most important purpose for living.
An Effective Witness
- What is Witnessing? Witnessing is giving or providing evidence of something. It is to attest to a fact. In our case, it is to give evidence of the life of Christ we have come to know and live as true Christians. Witnessing is attesting the fact that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation and not just one of the ways – John 10:7-10; 14:6; 15:26-27.
- Who is a Witness? Every Christian, through salvation is a witness. It is our calling and duty. Effective witnessing starts with the individual Christian. A knowledge of who Christ is and how He lived His life is necessary in order to give evidence of His life. A witness will definitely live like Jesus Christ lived – Ephesians 3:16-21; 1 Cor. 10:23-33; 1 Cor. 11:1.
Question/Activity: We hear the common phrase: “I don’t want to talk about politics and religion”, as a witness for Christ how should you respond? (Acts 17).
Conclusion: Be prepared for the Lord to use you where you are. It may be at home, at school, in business, in hospital, or while you are travelling. Be willing to be just a link in the chain of God’s purposes. It is rarely that God uses one instrument in the salvation of a soul. In most cases He uses many instruments. Be willing to do your share by prayer, or conversation or gentle persuasion. This great work is His work. (1 Corinthians 3: 7-9).
Shalom!
