Day: 26
Text: Luke 12:42-48
Introduction-
The Parable of the Faithful Steward, sometimes also referred to as the Parable of the Faithful and Unfaithful Servants, can be found in the Gospel of Luke 12:42-48. In this parable, Jesus emphasizes the importance of being vigilant, responsible, and faithful in fulfilling one’s duties while awaiting the return of the master.
Summary
Jesus describes a scenario in which a master puts his servant in charge of his household while he is away. The faithful and wise steward ensures that the household runs smoothly, providing food and care for the other servants. When the master returns unexpectedly and finds the steward diligently performing his duties, the steward is rewarded and promoted.
In contrast, if the steward becomes complacent or irresponsible, mistreating the other servants and indulging in personal pleasures, the master will return at an unexpected time and punish the unfaithful steward severely.
