Parable of The Ten Virgins

Parable of The Ten Virgins

Day: 18

Text: Matt. 25:1-13.

Introduction-

Everyone must develop critical thinking skills as we may never know when to take them out of the toolbox. We need to adopt a culture of diligence.
We always hear from the pastor that we must always aim 110% in our dealings, be it a normal life cycle or spiritual. It is easier said than done, yes but we need God’s grace to carry us through.
I will consider the ten virgins to be the smartest and the most beautiful missies at the time of their initial decision to meet the groom. The question is, do we always look through things, or do we study to show ourselves approved?
2Timothy 2:15.

Life Lessons
1. You Are the First Guest Invited

As we have seen in the parable of the ten virgins that we have just read, we are certainly loved, respected, and invited to God’s glorious kingdom.
God’s kingdom is like a party that we are all used to, in some instances, the party may be strictly by invitation. God’s kingdom is open to all. The virgins heard about the party, and they decided to be a part of the merry. Mathew 22:1-8. In that parable, Jesus invited all and sundry to the party the elites boycotted. God is kind and just, he will deliver anyone who calls on His name for help.

2. Our Attitudes Matters

The virgins were so delighted with the party that they got in their best attire and headed to the party venue. No doubt, they must have known the couple, regardless, that behavior got them the ticket to get inside where the couple was meant to be. Not everyone was opportune to get inside because it was recorded that at the mention of the groom’s arrival, there was noise, where was the noise from? Obviously from the people around who couldn’t make it in.

3. Jesus will come back someday
As believers and followers of Jesus, it is part of our belief that Jesus will show up one day and we will be caught up with him in the sky the same way the five virgins were caught unaware, we should ask for the grace to stay steadfast and to be blameless to receive the king of glory at His second coming. Thessalonians 4:16-17
2 Peter 3:10. Mathew 24:36, 44.

Life applications
1. Do Your Diligence

The difference between the two sets of virgins is that a set thought ahead of time, prepared for the rainy day. They got their fuel tanks filled and got extra just in case. Prov. 22:29, 2Tim. 2:15, 1Corinth. 15:58.
The other set of virgins was carried away with meeting the groom and getting to be the special guest at the event.

2. There Should Be No Room for Envy

A good lesson was learned from the second set of Virgins called foolish by the bible. It was not recorded that they were forcing it when their counterpart wouldn’t share their oil. In common scenarios, a fight would break out and the failed party would stop the succeeding party from flourishing. We should always maintain our Christlike attitude. People mostly judge us by our attitude and appearance.

3. Everyone Will Die One Day
We shall inevitably all die, what if we don’t get to see the second coming of Christ but taste death instead? That shall also come like a thief in the night.
Heb. 9:27. Can we boldly say we live according to Jesus’ standard?

Lesson of the Day

We must be watchful in all that we do.
1 Corinthians 16:13, Colossians 4:2, 1 Peter 5:8
