Day: 15
Text: Mark 12:1-11
Introduction-
According to this story, the parable of the tenants, if you read the scripture, we find out that everything that played out here was rejection. It is a story about rejection. I don’t know if you have ever suffered rejection in life, you know it is heart breaking, it is disheartening, it is very painful. Especially when you have been rejected by your loved ones, by people you have invested into, you have sacrificed so much for, you have given so much for them, at the end of the day, they turn their back on you. It is so painful; it makes one sick.
So this place was a painful experience and we will trust God to look into it.
Life Lessons–
Here we have: –
(1) The Landlord (GOD)
(2) The Servants (PROPHETS)
(3) The Son (JESUS CHRIST)
For proper understanding, we will break it into three categories
The first one is found in verses 1 to 5. The tenants reject the servants sent by the landlord. The second rejection was the tenants rejecting the son. We see that in verses 6 to 8. When the tenant rejected the servant, the landlord finally sent the son but unfortunately they did the same thing to the son.
The third category is God rejects the tenants (the landlord finally rejected the tenants).
Life applications
Anytime God sent His word through His servants, through any means, you read God’s word and you don’t obey it, you are doing the same thing.
we need to allow God’s word to run in our heart and in our life.
Anytime you do something outside God’s word, it means you have rejected God’s word, it means you have rejected God’s servants, it means you have rejected the son of God.
Lesson of the Day
God is challenging each and every one of us to know that if we accept Him today on the last day, He will also accept us and take us to eternal rest. if we reject Him today on that day, He will also reject us.
