The Dynamics of Faith 3

The Dynamics of Faith 3

Memory Verse:  But without faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him – Hebrews 11:6 (AMP).

Spiritual Emphasis: Faith isn’t static state, it’s a dynamic force – a powerful energy that propels us forward, allowing us to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and trust in God. In this series, we will explore the “dynamics of faith.” How it works actively within us, shaping our everyday actions and transforming our lives to the glory of God.

Text: Luke 7:1-10

How Faith Works

  • Faith is a Choice: God has set before us life and death. Let us choose life. Reject the lies of the evil one who accuses us day and night and choose what Christ has spoken and done for us. Choose freedom, Christ loves you, choose to be loved by God. Christ has forgiven us, choose the forgiveness of Christ for our sins, choose grace, God’s unmerited favor – Rom. 8:5-8; Deut. 30:19; Jos. 24:15; Rev. 12:10; Rom. 8:1.
  • Faith works when we come to God with a sense of our own unworthiness: Remember the Roman Centurion and his sick slave. He needed Jesus’ help. Jesus never made it to his home because the centurion wouldn’t let Him come – Luke 7:6-8
  • Faith works when our confidence in the Lord is so strong that we are willing to risk embarrassment and failure: Again, the centurion got his answer. He didn’t know very much, but what he knew he was willing to take a chance on – Luke 7:2-5; Daniel 3:8-25.

Question: What choices are you making? Are you walking according to the flesh or spirit?

Conclusion

Faith’s power does not rest in knowledge, religion, or good works. Faith is not trying harder or being nicer. Faith works when we stop playing it safe, when we throw away our little cup, and when we, with uncertain steps, take the risk and come running to Jesus with a bucket. He fills it to the top every time. But the key is to come running to Jesus all the time, and never take your eyes off Him.

Shalom!
