Memory Verse: “But keep alert at all times [be attentive and ready], praying that you may have the strength and ability [to be found worthy and] to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man [at His coming].” – Luke 21:36 (AMP).
Text: Ezekiel 39:1-24.
Scriptural Emphasis: Good will always triumph over evil and the Kingdom of God will finally triumph over all.
- The Battle Of Gog And Magog
- This is a literal battle against the nation of Israel. There are different claims that it represents, a leader of nations involving Russia (from the north) and certain Middle Eastern nations – Eze.38:1-3, 10-16.
- One opinion suggests that this battle will occur sometimes before the early stage of the seven years tribulation and it will probably lead to the three and half year’s peace agreement between Israel and the antichrist alliance – Lk.21:20-21, Dan.9:26-27.
- Another school of thought suggests the battle will be after the millennial reign of Christ – Rev. 20: 8-9.
- Even though Israel will suffer great loss and lives, at some point, Israel will win this battle through supernatural intervention – Ezek. 38:18-20, 39:1-6.
Question: How would you attempt to resolve the difference in the two schools of thoughts about Gog and Magog?
- The Battle Of Armageddon.
- This is also a literal battle that will happen at a place called valley of Megiddo – Rev. 16:16, Zech.12:11.
- It will be a final battle in human history between God and the human government headed by the antichrist. Jesus returns with the saints to finally take over and deliver the earth back to God – Rev. 19:1-16.
- The battle will involve an unprecedented coalition of world armies against establishing the kingdom of God. There will be great bloodbath and loss of human life that has never been experienced in human history – Rev. 9:17-18, Zech.12:8-9.
- This battle takes place at the end of the tail end of the Great Tribulation. Satan will be bound after this battle for a thousand years but will be released again and will be finally cast into the lake of fire – Rev.19:20-21, Rev.201-3, 7-10.
Question: Why do you think people will still embrace the influence and rebellion of the devil after he is released following the millennial period?
