Day 7, Feb 11th 2024
Topic: Isaac
Text: Gen 18(1-14), Gen 21(1-7), Gen 22(1-11) Gen 26(1-6, 12-13)
Introduction-
Today we are studying the life of one of the Patriarchs of the Israelites and our faith as Christians-Isaac. His life was an integral part of God’s plan for humanity. Gen 18(1-14)
Life Lessons–
Isaac was in the plan of God for humanity. In the same vein we are also in God’s plan. There are no extras in God’s kingdom we all have an integral part to play in fulfilling His purpose and plan for humanity.
God orchestrates his plan to fulfill His purposes. He is the master orchestrator of the lives of all His children.
If God has spoken something regarding us we best be assured that He is able to make it happen. We need to answer the question in Gen 18 (14)-“Is anything too hard for the Lord?….
Life applications
Gen 22(1-11)-Isaac had absolute trust in his father and was submissive to his father’s will even when it was seemingly not in his best interest. In the same manner we as children of God need to make ourselves subject to God’s will and trust Him that He has our best interest at heart and is working out everything for our best as long as we are living our lives according to His plan and purposes. We need to surrender to God’s will always
Gen 26(1-6, 12-13)-Learn to obey God’s instructions. When God gives us a specific instruction and we are obedient He will uphold His end of His bargain. There is profit/reward in obeying God.
Lesson of the Day
Just like a popular song says- We serve a very big God who doesn’t leave us nor forsake us. He is always on our side a very big God indeed. Heb 13(5) Amp version.
