Day 19
What does Jesus say about Being Persistent in Prayers?
Text: Luke 18:1-6
INTRODUCTION
Prayer is a way of communicating with God, it is a way humans receive supernatural help from the Almighty God. We need to be persistent in prayer because persistence shows seriousness, not giving up, desire and faith. Too many times we engage in prayers without result because we give up, when we are persistent, we get results.
LIFE LESSONS
- If you are not praying, you are fainting.
The reason we have too many weak Christian is because they are not praying. Fainting
means weak and dizzy, too many Christians are weak and dizzy and this ultimately results
into fainting Luke 18:1
- As humans we are limited
Praying persistently is a way to show where our dependence, those who pray persistently.
shows that they rely solely on God. Total reliance on God is an act of faith and God lifts
up the humble and resist the proud. When you are not persistent in prayers, it means you
have other things that you rely on. John 15:5
- Any move of God is preceded by persistent prayers
Revivals, healing, anointing, the supernatural is preceded by persistence in prayer. Jesus
showed us a great example of this through scriptures, He would fast and pray persistently
and then the sudden move of God will be made manifest. Acts 10:38
We can’t see the move of God in our nation, family, lives without praying persistently.
LIFE APPLICATIONS
- Persistent Prayers makes us focus on Jesus
When we pray, we fix our focus on Jesus Heb 12:2. Keeping our focus on
Jesus helps to magnify Jesus and crush our problems. The enemy wants us to focus on
our problems and issues, by doing so, you lose focus on Jesus and begin drowning Matt
14:25-31
- Persistent Prayers Brings Power
Power, miracles only happen by persistent prayers James 5:16. When you ask, seek and
knock until you receive an opening because persistent prayers bring power.
Many people mutter some word for a minute without it being heartfelt when they walk
out of the door, they can’t remember what they prayed about, and they expect power.
- Persistent Prayers Brings God into any situation.
Prayers attract God, when you pray once and you don’t receive the answer, do not stop.
Continue to pray in Faith, the persistent prayer of faith attracts God to that situation and
brings about a solution. 1 Kings 18:41-45.
LESSON OF THE DAY:
Jesus wants us to pray without ceasing, pray always and you will see the salvation of God over any area you are believing Him to show up for you.
